About
My research interests and publications originate from my work as a probation officer in the 1980s and early 1990s, where I was (amongst other things) involved in developing cognitive-behavioural programmes for adult male sex offenders. I have extensive experience both as a trainer and a consultant in issues related to sex offending.
My research incorporates psychological and sociological understandings of sexual violence, and I am interested in finding ways to incorporate both of these approaches to sexual violence into different ways of thinking about men, male behaviours, male sex offenders and community safety.
Additionally, I am involved in researching issues related to diversity - race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, disability and age - in prisons.
