About
Alisha Ali has been actively involved in the hospitality and tourism industry for over ten years. She has completed a Bachelors of Science Degree in Tourism Management and a Masters Degree in Management Studies. Recently she completed a PhD in Tourism which focused on investigating the uses and applications of ICT for sustainable tourism for destinations. Currently, she is a Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University.
In addition to academic activities, Alisha has worked both locally, regionally and internationally in the hospitality and tourism field. Some of her career highlights includes developing marketing communication material for the travel and tourism industry, conducting market research and analysis of world-wide trends in the hospitality industry, developing feasibility studies for industry stakeholders and working on “live” tourism plans and projects and participating in their implementation in the Caribbean.
Alisha has been invited as a guest speaker at Cesar Ritz Colleges, Switzerland and delivered a module on Hotel Benchmarking at the Emirates Academy, Dubai.
Current research interests include computer-mediated sustainability with a special focus on tourism and hospitality and innovation in hospitality and tourism.
